This is the sequel of synopsis part 1: The Absurd and Tragic Stories: An Anthology. Of course, these two sections are actually an inseparable part of the anthology, but due to technical matters, including the length of the synopsis, so it's presented into 2 articles. Gedhem is a crime genre with a touch of philosophy that is very dramatic, tragic and absurd. Gedhem is my entrance to describe a state of how trivial things around us can influence and possess someone's behavior in their real life. Actually, it is inspired by the true story. And I choose to tell it in another form. But, really! There is a typology of person who can be greatly influenced and possessed by things that (I believe) for the others in the community are considered trivial and unreasonable. Then, they will ask in surprise, "How come?"
Gedhem can be classified as an absurd person. Yes, that's right. But he might not be categorized as a stupid person. Maybe it’s a matter of deviation, once again ... yes, that’s right. But he had abundant experience through the books he read. Whether everything that he perceived and actualized is good or bad, it's another point. Obviously, he is a person who have self confidence in his own thought and the strong belief in something, including the belief that is not common in perceiving at God:
And his unusual ‘philosophical’ perspective of God, inevitably led many to accuse him of being an atheism's follower. But, he always insisted that he was not an atheist. He only wanted to be a creature that opposed and fiercely resisted his Creator, and not eliminated God! Because, he had replaced God with a new deified idol, which is: The Freedom.
In reality, everything that Gedhem went through has always become new problems that could not be accepted by the community. From the small absurd things, until finally:
However, Gedhem's strange-lunatic behavior did not stop there. It was hard to believe, when everything peaked into something I had never imagined before! A big uproar happened.
So, what is THE BIG UPROAR that happened? Let's find out ALL THE SHOCKING TRAGEDIES by reading the whole story!
A Matchmaking is a romantic surprise which is both incredibly dramatic and tragic. This unique story tells about a man's turmoil in a problematic arranged marriage. His helplessness in dealing with one important moment in his life has actually changed as his stage for judging his future mate in various tendentious reproaches and bad prejudices which full of absurdity.
On the other hand, one can judges this man is actually having the inferiority complex problem, so he is ready to issue tons of excuses to both humiliated himself, and also at the same time attacks the woman personally. Perhaps it is a reflection of his weaknesses or it indicates indirectly that he is a loser against woman. But, he strongly denied so hard! And strangely had his own trivial reasons, as he said:
“It’s all about the look in her eyes... Really, it doesn't mean that I feel inferior! But, the gaze of those eyes..... A kind of stare.... that it is really hard for me to express! Actually, it's not a sneering, insulting and dismissive gaze. It is not like that! But ... oh my god! Every time I spoke before her, then I saw the look in her eyes ... God damn it! Suddenly the weird feeling came. Looked like I was so tiny in front of her. There were reluctance, bizarre respect, or whatever it's called. Obviously, I feel like dealing with a woman who is so perfect, so high, so holy and regal, flawless, with all the elite expectations of the classy people... I mean, this is not in terms of material. But, it’s more in intellectually meaning! Uhh! I even seemed to be so fool in front of her.”
If we continue to follow his odd and absurd conversations, in fact the man is in extraordinary restlessness and anger. He has strong, plausible reasons which are finally revealed his personal secret story in his emotional and tragic words:
“That's the matter, buddy! In fact…. there is one thing that I haven't told you. And unfortunately, that is even worse!”
And....
He said in a mysterious trembling voice, “Really, this is what I was going to tell you from the beginning. I just wanted to show something that I had never thought of before ...”
So, what did THE MOST EXTREME SECRET he want to unveil from his prospective spouse? Let's find out by reading the whole story!
The Victim is a closing story filled with sadness that describes the unique character of illogical and absurd human behavior. Like The Survivors, the story is inspired by a devastating plague of covid19 pandemic, but presented from a completely opposite point of view! This odd behavior sometimes controverts to human common sense is unfortunately many encountered in the real world around us.
