Recently, the
natural landscapes composition as mountains, rivers, beaches and trees have
always been the object of nature photography and eventually become a place to
travel. This is a matter of technological advance that affects the lifestyle
and behavior of global society. We can imagine a power of social media that was
never thought of before... someone uploaded a selfie in the flower garden, and
then in a short amount of time thousands people will visit that place and even
become a new tourism destination!
I am only
describing what millennials do nowadays. On the other hand, I try to imagine
this in the 90s, where technology was not as advanced as today. Though I found
a very personal and a quiet moment, it actually became a contemplative
individual experience. We respected nature as something personal and for some
people could be an inspiration to create works that have artistic value.
The Oya River
which divides the limestone hills reveals the secret behind its clarity. White
limestone may be the answer. Where the bright sunlight causes the water become
greenish and bluish, those colors as a perfect reflection of the blue sky and
green of the trees.

On both sides of
the river there are narrow roads, indeed the roads are not so wide or I can say
it as pathways. Fortunately, those pathways allow us to get perfect landscape
photography objects. Its strategic location where they are close enough to the river
and located in a vast open environment so that everything can be exposed, there
is no visual barrier whatsoever to see both hilly areas, rice fields, river and
trees.
Down the small
road slowly while looking at the vast landscape ... we seemed to absorb the
great power of air, water and land. The power manifests itself in the beautiful
landscape of the sky, the flowing river water and the earth with hilly
contours. All of it makes our imagination wander ... we are pampered by the
nature. Nature seems to tell us about goodness and peace. Nature that is so
friendly, cheerful whose elegance appease the soul.
Along the banks
of the river, also observe the behavior of local villagers. Some old people
seem to collect limestone in the baskets. Apparently, there is also
exploitation of natural resources there. For a while, nature was not too
disturbed, because of it is such a very traditional style of stone mining. But
we do not know for the next few years. If such mining is not too massive and
greedy, maybe what we can enjoy now will still exist in the future.

They may not
realize, the natural wealth that has a bright future is not by mining the
stone. Where they consider it to be the only economic value for today. That's
totally wrong! The promising great potential in the future lies precisely in
the existence of nature which is not disturbed by exploitation that is
potentially able to destroy it. The real wealth is nature itself! As far as we
can preserve it, and keep it natural. So, its authenticity and beauty is the
greatest potential itself. Nature-friendly tourism is more promising in the
future, and it can be realized by caring for it, preserving and maintaining its
authenticity.
In some spots not
far from there, apparently it's not only a silence that we encounter. Some
people gather to have fun to be as one with nature ... A little noise that
still entertains! Some children even climbed on a fairly big rock, they jumped,
plunged, swam and played water happily. I really enjoyed that kind of moments.
Very human, the innocence of children as we have experienced in the past. They
live carefree and happy to be friends with nature.

A few hours later
... The sun begins to crawl to the west ... Gradually the atmosphere becomes
dimmer. Dusk is coming .... The silence that truly belongs to nature is now
felt again ... The towering limestone hills, now look elegant in silence ... As
if their stillness is an expression of a goodbye... And then, they welcome the
night and go to bed....
